PRESERVE. ENHANCE. BELONG.
GIVE BACK TO RUSSIAN HILL.
GENERAL FUND
Unrestricted donations help RHN bring neighbors together and keep Russian Hill vibrant. They support community events, neighborhood beautification, safety efforts, and our voice in city decisions—while preserving the unique character of our hill.
Activities include neighborhood socials, beautification projects, safety initiatives, and staying engaged in city decisions that affect Russian Hill. We also serve as a go-to resource for community news, events, and local updates.
GREENWICH GARDEN PATH
The paved Greenwich Garden Pathway between Hyde and Leavenworth winds through a verdant garden featuring blooming plants, 25 trees, and a tranquil fountain.
With your support, this beloved neighborhood haven stays welcoming and serene for everyone.
INA COOLBRITH PARK
Dedicated to California’s first poet laureate, this steep patch of greenery on Vallejo between Taylor and Mason contains stairways, benches, gardens, and magnificent vistas of downtown San Francisco and the bay.
VALLEJO STAIRWAY GARDENS
Private donations help preserve this “secret garden” through ongoing restoration and care. Recent enhancements include new terracing, irrigation, lush plantings, and the addition of fourteen historic-style street lamps that light up the crest and stairs with timeless charm.
Whether you’re a dog walker, visitor, or history lover—if this special spot means something to you, consider supporting its future with a one-time or recurring gift.
HELEN WILLS PLAYGROUND
Named for a legendary Bay Area tennis star, this beloved playground at the corner of Larkin and Broadway was renovated thanks to strong community support and RHN’s dedicated fundraising. But it still needs ongoing care.
The site includes a rec center with restrooms, programs for young kids, and summer activities—plus a playground, tennis court, and basketball court for all to enjoy.
PRESERVING RUSSIAN HILL'S HISTORY
In 1988, Russian Hill Neighbors secured National Register status for three beloved historic districts—Vallejo Crest, the Paris Block (1000 block of Green), and Macondray Lane. This recognition helps protect their unique character and shares their stories with the public.
RHN continues to advocate for these landmarks by reviewing proposed changes, raising awareness, and promoting their preservation for future generations.
