Design, Zoning, and Land Use


The Design, Zoning, and Land Use (DZLU)  Committee oversees development and land use issues on Russian Hill. We advise RHN’s Board on policies and actions, focusing on preserving our historic buildings. We also work with the city, government agencies, and local groups to support projects that benefit our neighborhood.

The Families Committee supports services and events that make Russian Hill a great place to raise a family. We work with the city to improve family life in the neighborhood, help spread the word about local resources for parents and kids, and organize events for families living on Russian Hill.

The Parks Committee brings the community together to care for and celebrate Russian Hill's parks. We advocate for proper maintenance, stay involved in park planning and improvements, and keep neighbors informed. The Safety Committee works to keep Russian Hill safe by connecting with the Police and Fire Departments and encouraging neighbors to get involved in emergency preparedness. We also focus on creating a comprehensive disaster plan to protect our community.

The Local Business Committee fosters connections between local businesses and the Russian Hill community. We support small business owners by promoting their services and events, while encouraging community involvement. The Social Committee plans engaging events that bring neighbors together—think Cheers nights, dinners, book club, symphony outings, and picnics. We also team up with other committees to support their gatherings and good causes.
